Every app, what it can reach, and what you can do about it
One ranked list of the apps your last device scan found, each with the risk a deterministic engine computed for it. Open one to see the permissions and findings behind its rating, then act: open its Android App info, restrict it, uninstall it, or mark it reviewed so it stops rising to the top. A Pro & Family tool.

The problem
A phone quietly accumulates apps. Some were installed once and never opened again; some ask for far more than they need; some came with the phone and can’t be removed at all. Ranking them all in one undifferentiated list produces alarm nobody can act on — the manufacturer’s dialler holding phone permissions is not a finding.
How it works
Apps splits the list in two, because the two halves call for different actions. Apps you chose to install are the ones worth your attention, and they can be uninstalled. Preinstalled apps keep their real rating — capped at medium by the engine — in a section that says plainly why they sit down there. Every score comes from the same deterministic engine as the rest of NexGuard, never from a model.
How it works
Apps, step by step
Scan
A device scan captures the apps on your phone. NexGuard never enumerates your installed apps on the client — it reads what a scan you ran already captured.
Rank
The backend engine rates each app by what it can reach and how sensitive that access is, with preinstalled apps capped so they can’t crowd out the real findings.
Open one
Expand any app to see its permissions and the specific findings behind its rating — the reason, not just the colour.
Act
Open Android’s App info, restrict the app, uninstall it through Android’s own dialog, or mark it reviewed so it stops surfacing.
What you’ll get
Built the NexGuard way
Two lists, because there are two jobs
Apps you installed can be removed and deserve your attention. Preinstalled apps can’t be removed at all, so they keep an honest rating in their own section instead of inflating the alarm at the top.
A reason under every rating
Expand an app and you get its permissions and the findings the engine actually used. Severity is shown as a labelled pill, never colour alone — a grayscale screenshot or colour-blind reading loses nothing.
Actions Android already allows
Restrict, open App info, or uninstall through Android’s own dialog. NexGuard hands off; it never removes an app behind your back, and a cancelled uninstall is treated as your decision, not a failure.
Last-used only if you allow it
Grant Android’s usage access and each row can show when you last opened the app. Decline and nothing is read — the feature simply shows less.
Privacy first
Designed to protect, never to snoop
NexGuard does not enumerate the apps on your phone from the client — that would need a permission Google Play restricts, and it doesn’t have it. The list comes from a device scan you ran, and an app’s rating is computed by a deterministic engine on the backend. Removing an app is done by Android’s own uninstall dialog, with your confirmation. If your score doesn’t move immediately afterwards, NexGuard says so plainly: the score belongs to the scan that produced it, and it changes when the next scan runs.
