No dark patterns, no surprise charges. This is exactly how money moves — and doesn’t — in NexGuard.
This document is written in plain language for clarity and reflects how NexGuard actually works today. It is a good-faith template and not legal advice — have it reviewed by qualified counsel and localized for your jurisdiction before you rely on it in production.
Free is genuinely free
The Free plan requires no credit card and no payment details. There is no trial countdown and no automatic conversion to a paid plan. You upgrade only if and when you choose to.
No card-on-file, no “$1 verification”
Because paid plans are purchased through Google Play, NexGuard never asks for or stores your card, and never places a $1 (or any) authorization hold to “verify” a card. If you ever see such a request claiming to be NexGuard, it isn’t us — please report it.
How paid plans are billed
Pro and Family are bought inside the Android app via Google Play Billing. Google is the merchant of record: it processes payment, issues receipts, and manages the subscription. Our backend verifies the purchase server-side with Google before unlocking the plan — an unverified purchase grants nothing.
Prices, currency & renewal
Prices are shown in USD on this site as a guide (Pro $9.99/month or $59.99/year, Family $19.99/month or $79.99/year). The actual charged price, currency and any tax are set in Google Play for your region. Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated price for your chosen cycle until you cancel. Any price change would be communicated in advance through Google Play.
Upgrades, downgrades & cancellation
Change or cancel any time in Google Play (Subscriptions). Upgrades and downgrades follow Google Play’s proration rules. On cancellation you keep paid access until the end of the current period, then return to the Free plan; your data remains, limited to Free-plan limits.
Failed payments
Google Play handles retries. If a renewal ultimately fails, the subscription lapses and your account returns to the Free plan automatically.
Refunds
Refunds follow our Refund Policy and Google Play’s policies, since Google is the merchant of record.
